Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Technology
Ashild Hanne Larsen’s journey to becoming Vice President of Subsurface Excellence and Digital for Equinor, an international energy company headquartered in Norway, has been “somewhat strange,” she says. Larsen began working for Equinor as a catering assistant working on offshore oil rigs making beds, doing kitchen work, and removing waste from people’s wastebaskets. Subsequent roles in HR and technology projects led her to where she is today.
SAPinsider’s Chief Research Officer Riz Ahmed sat down with Larsen to learn what diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) mean to her, how the concept has impacted her personal journey as a female leader in the technology space and the energy industry, and what continues to inspire her to focus attention in this area.
Watch this video and hear:
- Larsen’s definition of DE&I and her perspective on how it can be incorporated into the technology space to support strategic initiatives and shape the future;
- The unique role that DE&I plays in technology and in Equinor’s mission to build a profitable renewables business; and
- What is inspiring Larsen to help others understand DE&I and the unique mindset she has adopted to continually grow.
