Key Takeaways

⇨ Qatar Chemicals undertook a selective data transition to SAP S/4HANA on RISE with SAP driven by the need for transformation, the need to change, the need to improve user experience with and innovation on a cloud platform.

⇨ SNP played a major role in data transformation by minimizing downtime, enabling a document split on a productive instance, and introducing the Qatari Rial currency in the productive landscape.

⇨ The project's success, despite being an early adopter of RISE with SAP, was attributed to the unified approach with SNP and IBM coupled with strong leadership.

Robert Holland from ERP Today talked with Saleha Al-Kubasi, Head of SAP at Qatar Chemicals, and Ravi Mahalingam, Managing Director of SNP Middle East, about Qatar Chemicals’ recent move to SAP S/4HANA on RISE with SAP. With over 20 years of history with SAP, Qatar Chemicals needed to update their systems, user experience, and transition to the cloud.
SNP played a major role in the transformation and were used by Qatar Chemicals due to their ability to minimize downtime, introduce the Qarari Rial currency to systems, and perform document splitting on a productive instance. Despite the size of the transformation, the project was completed in eight months without any major issues.
Qatar Chemicals has now been successfully running on SAP S/4HANA for two years and has benefited from the enhanced user experience and financial reporting. They attribute the success of the project, as an early adopter of RISE with SAP, to working as a unified team with both SNP and IBM alongside their focus on people, process, data, and systems.
