The digital revolution sweeping the globe is turning massive amounts of data into revenue opportunities for companies and — as a more explicit benefit — releasing employees from rote work. This is the promise behind the Intelligent Enterprise, a vision launched at SAPPHIRE NOW 2018, that crystallizes the SAP roadmap for supporting companies on digital journeys and that will transform businesses ready to adopt innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain.

Resting upon the digital core of SAP S/4HANA and SAP’s digital suite of intelligent technologies and powered by the SAP Leonardo portfolio — the Intelligent Enterprise gives partners a simple and seamless way to build, extend, and integrate next generation cloud applications.

The following examples represent companies that have taken their businesses to the next level by transforming processes to seize the opportunities presented by an Intelligent Enterprise framework and partner-extended cloud applications:

People engagement: Zitec Group — using SAP partner T.Con’s HR portal — now has the ability to cover the entire employee life cycle. All employees have their own entry point to the HR portal and can manage their own data through a self-service module. Employees can access and extract HR-relevant data for their own use. And because it’s based on SAP Cloud Platform, the HR portal can be accessed through smartphones and seamlessly includes third-party apps.

Customer experience: Henkel AG & Company, KGaA, a manufacturer of laundry and home care, beauty care, and adhesive technology products, wanted to optimize the travel time of its sales representatives. With the help of maihiro GmBH and SAP Cloud Platform, it implemented an app called maiTour. The app not only optimizes travel routes, using customer locations to group sales visits and providing traffic data to lessen time on the road. It also considers company strategy and prioritizes the most valuable customers. This sales force automation tool helps both the sales representatives and the company meet their sales targets.

Manufacturing and supply chain: For customers in more than 100 countries, Apollo and Vredestein tires — manufactured and sold by Apollo Tyres — are a trusted brand. But in the digital era, nothing can be left to chance. To strengthen collaboration with dealers, improve productivity, and access real-time information on processes and market development, Apollo Tyres deployed the DealerConnect Partner portal, which SAP Partner Arteria Technologies built on SAP Cloud Platform.

Digital core: Capabilities provided by SAP S/4HANA Cloud allow companies to “operate at the speed of thought.” Using technology embedded within SAP S/4HANA, SAP CoPilot provides employees with hands-free ERP and a digital assistant for two-way communication, allowing Delaware Consulting to use automation to make the best use of its resources, including people and inventory.

These are just a few examples of how SAP’s deep experience with business processes and enterprise applications over 45 years, together with partner expertise, have naturally extended into the era of the Intelligent Enterprise. Today, SAP’s open Intelligent Enterprise framework gives independent software vendors (ISVs) and solution provider partners the tools they need to help customers do more with less, deliver a consistent, best-in-class experience, and invent new ways to do business and drive revenue.

SAP and partners are providing customers the innovation they need to gain a competitive and transformative edge in this disruptive and exciting time.
