What is E-Commerce?
E-commerce is the buying and selling of goods through business-to-consumer and business-to-business transactions via the internet. E-commerce is a critical part of a retailer’s omnichannel strategy, with sales opportunities to order online from the retailer for delivery to the consumer or curbside pickup, as well as direct to the consumer from the manufacturer.
The pandemic accelerated the adoption of e-commerce and brought an even tighter integration between core ERP and logistics processes (e.g., order management, fulfillment, and delivery).
