Successful go-live of synchronised planning with SAP IBP and SAP ePP/DS at Bachem

Following the initial go-live of the SAP IBP Demand module last year, the first production site has now gone live with SAP ePP/DS at Bachem.
Since last summer Bachem, a leading partner for pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the Basel area of Switzerland, has established SAP IBP Demand as the global single source of truth for sales and operations planning across multiple functions, including finance, sales, supply chain, production.
Westernacher Consulting’s successful implementation put an end to a number of disjointed plans. It improved the efficiency of data collection, data entry, quality assurance and cross-functional alignment.

With synchronized planning now in place using SAP IBP and ePP/DS at the first production site, the S&OP process is being linked to detailed planning, enabling Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) in the Supply Horizon. In addition, automated forecasts, planning runs, simulations and scenario planning support the daily operations of planners.
Based on this combination of IBP and ePP/DS, the next step will be to integrate long-term strategic planning, which will be progressively rolled out to other production sites worldwide.
