Building on its almost S$300m commitment to developing Business AI and other deep tech in Singapore, SAP recently announced the expansion of its Digital Innovation Accelerator. Supported by the Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), SAP will invest S$12m in the Singapore-based Digital Innovation Accelerator which was first launched in 2019.

This expansion aims to develop practical applications of AI in industry-specific scenarios, beginning with advanced manufacturing, financial services and travel and logistics services. This investment reaffirms the tech giant’s commitment to Business AI, as SAP establish Southeast Asia’s first SAP labs in 2022 and Asia’s first innovation center for experience management (XM) in 2023.

SAP Business AI is built into the SAP applications that power business processes for customers across Asia Pacific and Japan, comprising a range of AI innovations created using responsible AI practices.

The expanded SAP Digital Innovation Accelerator will see industry leaders work alongside a dedicated team of SAP business architects, data experts and developers to curate unique AI use cases tailored specifically to their businesses.

The Accelerator team will have an additional focus on sustainability, which aims to create positive climate action outcomes using AI and SAP’s sustainability solutions to enhance environmental monitoring, reporting and optimize supply chains.

“Over the past five years, we’ve co-developed solutions with more than 80 Singapore enterprises, achieving tangible impact in their business processes and international growth,” Chua added.
