According to SAPinsider’s SAP S/4HANA Migration Research Report, the top requirement organizations had for migrations was the need for operations to continue running smoothly. More than three quarters (76%) of respondents said they required minimal disruption to operations as they migrate to SAP S/4HANA.

Success Story

Avvale worked with Sociedad de Gestión de Activos Procedentes de la Reestructuración Bancaria (SAREB). SAREB is a financial entity that works to disinvest high-risk assets that were held within Spain’s national financial institutions. It aims to fully divest the assets to improve the Spanish economy.

SAREB had a need to migrate its systems to a public cloud. These systems featured 20 different applications that are business-critical from both SAP and non-SAP workloads.

Through migration, SAREB wanted a solution that would allow it to monitor and manage its business processes. By gaining data, SAREB would be able to use these insights to determine which parts of the business would need to be optimized in the future. To find the best option for this initiative, SAREB turned to Avvale.

Solution

Avvale recommended a multi-cloud solution hosted on Azure. This option allowed SAREB to leverage cloud environments that are centered on their location, but also provided the opportunity to scale as needed.

To avoid disruptions to SAREB’s business, Avvale implemented a phased migration. This took place over the weekend, so SAREB could continue its essential functions. Despite not working during the week, the process of migrating these systems took just four weeks from design to launch.

Avvale was able to provide SAREB with cost savings of more than 60% on their migration. The digital transformation also provided also equipped SAREB with the agility to adapt to any future changes they might encounter.
