Simon Davies Appointed SAP’s Regional President for APAC

SAP Asia Pacific (APAC) has appointed Simon Davies as President of the APAC region. In this role, Davies will oversee strategy, operations, people, sales, services, partners, and profitability across Asia Pacific for SAP.

The company indicated that he will be based in Singapore, succeeding Paul Marriott, who will return to Europe after spending five years in this position.

“Our next chapter is being fuelled by accelerated cloud and AI innovation, underpinned by our purpose, our people, and our partnerships,” said Manos Raptopoulos, SAP’s Chief Revenue Officer for APAC, EMEA, and MEE. “I’m confident that, under Simon, SAP APAC will build on the tremendous momentum established during Paul’s leadership and continue to be a catalyst for innovation and supporting customer success.”

The company’s APAC region consists of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. As President of the region, Davies will oversee more than 31,000 employees across 78 offices.

Prior to this appointment, Davies was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific and Japan at Splunk, for over three years. According to SAP’s February 17 announcement, he has spent 25 years building, selling, and implementing IT solutions in Asia Pacific, in Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle.

Davies has also served on the board of several pre-IPO technology companies and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
