Qualifications: Diploma of Business, Procurement and Supply - University of Central Queensland Skills Profile: Proficient Procurement and SAP process and systems knowledge with an accomplished career record working in areas such as purchasing systems development, supply management, purchasing, warehousing and logistics within the industries areas of mining, utilities, and wind farm construction Current Role: Procurement Operations Lead, AusNet Previous Roles: Supply Chain Specialist - Suzlon Supply & Logistics Superintendent – Consolidated Rutile Limited Acting Logistics Manager / Logistics Business Analyst – Queensland Magnesia Operations Supply Manager – Queensland Magnesia Operations Supply Officer – Queensland Magnesia Operations Personal Interests: Travel Photography Reading – Military History Music – Blues, Electric and Acoustic Guitar Personal Background: After completing year 12 at Hellyer College in Burnie, Tasmania I joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1981, working within the Supply and Secretariat branch and specialising in the areas of payroll, personnel, and accounts. I served in the RAN for 8 years with a main highlight being a circumnavigation of Australia completed in 1983. I completed many other sea voyages to ports in New Zealand, Tasmania, Fiji, and Singapore. I left the Navy in 1989 and after completing a year at the University of Tasmania travelled to Rockhampton, QLD to work in the mining industry specialising in the area of purchasing, supply, and logistics. My wife and I left Queensland in 2008 to travel to Melbourne and commenced a new stage of my supply career as a procurement and supply chain specialist in the energy industry working for Suzlon, an Indian company specialising in the manufacture and installation of wind farms. On 15 December 2010 I joined AusNet in the role of Purchasing Services Team Leader. I am still employed at AusNet in the procure to pay operations area with a strategic focus on procurement systems development and management. I live with my wife in Kilsyth, Victoria, we are both keen amateur photographers. We are enjoying the many varied and interesting activities that Melbourne and Victoria has to offer and are looking forward to many photo opportunities while we travel around the state.
