In 2021 a decision was made to move to a Zero-Based Maintenance Budgeting model. The current Maintenance Budgeting process is based on Cost Centres which is usually at a high level and is more suited to Finance reporting. Asset Owner require a more granular view of their Budget such as Boiler, then Unit 1, 2, 3 & 4 so they can understand in detail the expenditure on their Assets. Using the power of SAP S/4HANA and Fiori as the UX, apps were created to allow Budgets to be set at an individual Asset or a group of Assets. With the ability to lock in an Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecasts the Actual expenditure is easily tracked throughout the Fiscal Year in real-time.
