Enterprise Architecture, Motorbikes, Corners, and Potholes
Meet the Experts
Key Takeaways
⇨ Focus on the foundations (Business capabilities, value streams, processes) - the tools were built to help make implementing the practices easier.
⇨ Leverage the tools (adopt, don't adapt is not just for the business).
⇨ It's a team sport, the tools help drive broader outcomes and support ways of working (it's hard going, but the benefits can payback 10 fold).
Enterprise Architecture and Architecture in general can seem overwhelming at the best of times, either from the point of view of where you start or from a business stakeholders’ point of view of trying to make sense of what is being presented. Drawing on the analogy of looking through the corners, how do you guide a business change through the lens of Enterprise Architecture leveraging tools such as SAP Signavio and LeanIX?
This session will share a reflection of a roadmapping journey. Keysteps ahve included the ease of transitioning EA practice models from Excel and Visio to LeanIX (the Jumpstart – the establishment of a ‘system of truth’). Leveraging EA (and Business Architecture) methodologies which have guided the development of the SAP roadmap and now assist in supporting the change progression (for example retiring the multitude of excel sheets and other sources to move to a single interface inventory in LeanIX). How SAP Signavio can be leveraged to build the foundations (BPML) in support of the development lifecycle, helping to keep future phases aligned with the roadmap.
