Thai seasoning and ingredients company Exotic Food Thailand has reported a 73 percent increase in global sales year over year after implementing RISE with SAP.

Exotic Food replaced its on-premise ERP system with SAP S/4HANA on Amazon Web Services (AWS) after a spike in sales during the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the previous system’s inability to scale.

The company integrated its key business functions and streamlined its operations with SAP S/4HANA, while being hosted on AWS also provided a performance and stability boost.

“SAP S/4HANA Cloud has optimised our operational workloads while maintaining staff capacity. It has helped to integrate our financial processes across different departments, providing us a centralized view and allowed us to automate tasks from sales order computation, inventory management, through order fulfilment.

“The cloud ERP system also handles diverse product configurations in real time, helping us to reach more food lovers globally in less time.”

Exotic Food has also reduced manual work in its financial processes through SAP S/4HANA Cloud, achieving faster and more accurate month-end closings. The time required for monthly closings reduced from 18 days to eight days.

The company also improved its data traceability and production planning capabilities, replacing previously paper-based transaction data and record-keeping with digitalised versions migrated onto SAP S/4HANA Cloud. The time spent on traceability tasks reduced from four hours to three minutes, which meant Exotic Foods can maintain a clean and audit-ready record of its business transactions.

Stocktaking time has also reduced from two days to half a day on average after automating previously manual tasks.
