SAP announced at its SAP NOW AI Tour Southeast Asia in Singapore that Thailand’s communications and digital services provider Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS), has gone live with its implementation of RISE with SAP in June 2025. The digital transformation includes an AI-powered cloud ERP solution, infrastructure, and services, SAP noted during the event.
Reaping the Benefits
The company’s digital transformation not only streamlines its core processes and strengthens governance, but also improves the system’s support for critical functions like finance, spend management, wholesale, retail, and material management. Moreover, it has improved AIS’s operational efficiency for its finance and procurement teams while boosting productivity and reporting across the group.
“This project is a strategic leap for AIS, laying the digital foundation for how we operate, innovate, and grow,” said Montri Khongkruephan, Chief Audit Officer (Former Chief Financial Officer) at AIS. “RISE with SAP gives us the flexibility and resilience to scale our business and respond faster to market demands.”

With the implementation of RISE with SAP, AIS has modernised its digital core and unified operations for business agility in the long term, the company indicated. The transformation has enabled AIS to replace fragmented systems with a centralised platform that optimises its operations and lays the foundation for scalability and innovation.
A Fit-to-Standard Approach
“We are proud to support AIS in its digital transformation journey,” said Kulwipa Piyawattanametha, Managing Director of SAP Indochina. “RISE with SAP is targeted at empowering enterprises like AIS to simplify their IT landscape, strengthen operational control, have agility and flexibility to make impactful changes.”
AIS leveraged two core elements of RISE with SAP during its implementation of the project. They included SAP Best Practices and SAP Cloud ALM. This fit-to-standard approach helped the company accelerate its deployment of the platform while ensuring alignment with its business objectives.
The solution also utilises SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for the seamless integration of technologies and SAP Fiori to enable a seamless and intuitive user experience across the company.
What This Means for Mastering SAP Insiders
Use the cloud for seamless integration. For many fast-growing APAC companies, years of rapid expansion often lead to a messy patchwork of legacy systems. The AIS case proves that the primary value of RISE lies in standardising and simplifying the entire business, which in turn enhance the organisation’s agility. Mastering SAP Insiders who are building a business case for RISE, should frame it as a strategic business initiative sponsored by the CFO, COO, and CEO. Therefore your first question should be, “Which of our current processes are holding us back, and how can we adopt a standard, modern practice?”
The Fit-to-Standard playbook is now the standard. AIS, a large and complex company, succeeded by trusting the standard framework rather than bending the software to fit pre-existing, potentially inefficient, local habits. This approach accelerates deployment, reduces long-term maintenance costs, and ensures the organisation can take advantage of future SAP innovations without a huge upgrade project. Using SAP Cloud ALM from the start provides the governance needed to keep the project on track and the core clean.
Future-proof your systems with RISE. The business case for RISE with SAP must look forward at the agility that solution unlocks for tomorrow. Organisations must ask questions such as: “What opportunities in M&A, AI-driven insights, or new digital services will we miss because our underlying platform can’t keep up?” Think of RISE with SAP as the foundation and then build on it.
