⇨ One Australian customer has used the service to migrate to SAP S/4HANA within six months
DXC Technology has unveiled a new program that aims to help customers migrate to SAP S/4HANA in less than 12 months.
The DXC Fast RISE with SAP service includes pre-configured solutions, incorporates DXC’s SAP best practices and uses “rapid deployment methodologies” to achieve the target.
“DXC is using its unmatched history and trusted relationships with both clients and SAP to innovate at a world-class level,” DXC Global GM and Leader, Applications Keith Costello said. “Our first-to-market capabilities and unparalleled IP across multiple industries distinguishes DXC in the SAP ecosystem. With DXC Fast RISE with SAP, we look forward to partnering with clients to deliver the tremendous value of SAP S/4HANA faster.”

DXC calls the solution a compressed RISE with SAP S/4HANA migration, leveraging tools like the SAP Activate framework, AI, machine learning, automation, analytics and more, as well as industry best practices and technical managed services.
“DXC Technology’s Fast RISE with SAP program includes a broad assessment that helps clients to understand the full scope of the RISE with SAP transformation program,” IDC Research Director of IT Consulting and Systems Integration Services Brian Wood said. “The result may be a 12-month project to migrate legacy SAP systems to S/4HANA in the cloud. It may also include additional projects to address the full scope discovered in the assessment.”
How is Fast RISE with SAP delivered?
The program details the steps involved in both the assessment and deployment of SAP S/4HANA.
The discovery and assessment phase starts with assessing the customer’s current landscape, which runs from eight to nine weeks, and then followed by technical migration, business process improvements and the implementation of SAP innovations including SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and its generative AI offerings like Joule.
Speaking with Mastering SAP, DXC ANZ Strategic Growth and Sales Enablement Lead Matthew Varone said Fast RISE with SAP basically has everything pre-planned and packaged.
“We’ve worked out all the deployment schedules, we’ve got pre-formatted statements of work (SOWs), a pre-defined scope and more,” Varone said. “It’s basically ‘RISE in a box’. We’ve been able to articulate all the parameters of the scope within this offering, and if customers accept the offering for what it is, then we can guarantee that we can deliver it within 12 months.”
Varone said DXC completed its first Fast RISE with SAP implementation with an Australian customer over a period of six months.
“Our approach in the last 12 months has been to develop packaged solutions to go-to-market,” he added. “We’ve been developing packaged solutions for GROW with SAP and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, both with fixed goals, timelines and costs, so we can tell a customer that [a migration] is going to take a certain amount of time and will cost a certain amount of money.
“It gives our customers the security and that mitigates the risk, because the conversation isn’t about just what they want to do, but what they want to do that’s different from the base scope. It becomes a conversation around the delta, and we think it’s much better customer service.”
DXC ANZ Director of Growth and Presales Sam Atkinson told Mastering SAP that Fast RISE with SAP is part of an overall strategy by DXC to help customer reduce technical debt, overhauling the traditional greenfield, brownfield and hybrid approaches to migrating to SAP S/4HANA.
“[DXC] has aligned its transformation initiatives to the SAP Activate (SAP’s official project management methodology for migrating to SAP S/4HANA) deliverables and workstreams,” Atkinson said on how DXC is able to deliver on the 12-month or less timeline.
